Introduction:
Discord has become the go-to communication platform for many creatives, particularly those who work with Adobe apps. However, even though Discord allows you to display your status as "Playing" a game, "Listening" to music, or "Watching" a movie, it doesn't provide an option to showcase your proficiency with Adobe services. This can be frustrating for those who want to let others know about their projects in Photoshop, Illustrator, or any other Adobe app.
Fortunately, there's a workaround that allows you to display any Adobe app as your Discord status. In this article, we'll walk you through the steps to set it up so that you can show off your Adobe RPC to your Discord. Whether you're a designer, photographer, or video editor, this trick will enable you to stand out on Discord and potentially connect with others who share your creative interests. So let's dive in and learn how to make any Adobe app your Discord status!
Here's a video that visualize the process mentioned in this article:
Getting Started with Displaying Adobe Apps as Your Discord Status:
1. Download the files:
- the Discord RPC file: Releases · teeteeteeteetee/adobe-discord-rpc (github.com)
Select the option discord.rpc.zip, download the file and then extract
the compressed archive file.
After you've extracted the file, locate the
'discord rpc' folder and navigate to the following location on your
computer: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions".
Once you've found the location, simply paste the 'discord rpc' folder
into that location. This will install the necessary files and enable you to
display any Adobe app as your Discord status.
2. Adding a STRING KEY in the registry editor:
After you've done the previous steps, open the registry editor as an administrator, and then navigate to the specific location:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\CSXS.11
